Bob and Heimer is the most exciting

battle between these two Blockbuster
films that are coming out on the same
day on one side you've got Barbie uh
Pink Fantasia about the famous Mattel
doll

think about the nuclear bomb should we
call it Barbie Heimer babenheimer or a
boppenheimer I think the accepted
terminology now is Barb and Heimer
um I have heard of people saying uh open
Barbie uh depending on whether you're
planning to see Oppenheimer first and
Bobby second all right then which one
should we watch first to me personally
it seems very obvious the audio in which
you should watch it because I don't
think that you want to be watching a
lovely light uh comedy uh you know such
as Barbie and then you know subject
yourself to a three hour
very Bleak film about the potential
destruction of humankind are we saying
there's a chance that when we push that
button we destroy the world chances are
near zero
what's your favorite meme around the
Barbie Heimer I mean that's the there's
been one which is kind of an electoral
map of the US that particular map has
Barbie winning there's a succession
themed one do you think that the
bourbonheimer captures the mood of the
summer 2023. really it does seem that
they both kind of deal with you know
existential questions about humankind
who has everything about dying
Barbie is about a Barbie doll going out
into the real world and questioning her
herself her existence her identity and
similarly obviously a film about the new
the nuclear bomb and the potential
destruction of humankind is very much
about human existence so weirdly they do
both seem to have this quite uh in one
case maybe quite unexpectedly profound
kind of underlay about a human existence
